Footwear
On the whole, I tend to wear flat ballet pumps or boots as the brace does seem to affect my balance, even when I'm using my stick to walk. However, on special occasions, I have managed to wear heels for a short time, as long as they are made well and comfortable.
Non-Slip Boots
A non-slip boot is essential, especially in wet or snowy weather. For me, it would be devastating should I fall and, therefore, I invested in some great quality, non-slip snow boots that will last me season after season. There's lots about so it is worth doing a little research as to what suits you in terms of cost, fit, how much you need to bend and how the boot does up.
Flat Pumps
Simple ballerina pumps or shoes are perfect for wearing with a brace - just slip them on and away you go! Make sure you get a pair that fit securely though - you don't want them falling off as you're walking!
Heels
Yes, I have worn heels with the brace! I've only managed to stay in them for a couple of hours at the most, as they do get a bit uncomfortable and my balance isn't great, but a good quality, well-fitting pair will certainly do the trick for an element of glamour!
