Trousers
Jeans
My perfect jeans are those with a high waist and a stretch, denim fabric. I've found that my favourite ones are these South high rise jeans, which are available from catalogue sites such as Very.co.uk - they fit really well, cover my stomach and are quite inexpensive. I love them so much that I blogged about them! I'm able to wear them in my normal size as well.
They come in black, grey, indigo and vintage denim blue and (I think) work perfectly under the brace to cover my stomach which is pushed down underneath it. I tend to go for skinny jeans, matched with a long top or tunic but there are all sorts of styles available, including bootcut, kick flare and straight leg - all of which have the high waist to disguise the tummy! They also seem to be a staple on the site, so I would hope that they continue to stock these brilliant jeans! |
Trousers
Structured or tailored trousers have been the hardest thing to find that fits well. I think the main problem is that so often, there is no give in the fabric of these.
However, these Bistro trousers from Boden have a hint of elastane mixed with the cotton fabric, meaning that there is some stretch and they are easier to get on and wear comfortably. I had to go up a size for these, and possibly I could have gone up two sizes for an even more easy fit. They look really smart on and are perfect for wearing into the office teamed with a smart blouse or top and scarf. |
Tracksuit Bottoms
At the end of the day, sometimes we all want a bit of comfort and be able to lounge around the house! But I don't want to be housebound, so I have chosen tracksuit bottoms that can be worn outdoors without looking tacky or cheap.
My favourite tracksuit bottoms are the Nike dri fit range, which are fantastic quality and don't actually look like a tracksuit, more like casual trousers but with an elasticated waist. They are mainly cotton so look good and feel great, plus once again, there's a hint of Spandex for stretchiness. There is a great range of these at SportsDirect.com, usually at a discount which is always a bonus! Other comfortable trousers that work well are leggings or yoga pants. |
